There’s a breeze under the awning today. The desert smells fresh after an unexpected rain. The hummingbirds chirp as they give their case as to why it’s their turn to sip from the feeder. It is a comical site to see a feeder to the bottom of the passenger side RV mirror. The view alone makes me smile.
I am wrapped in my blanket sipping tea. I am regaining my strength after a couple of days of being sick in bed. Every time I brought the bucket close, Jon was there rubbing my back. I was too sick to talk much. And he knew the day would drag on for me without some kind of distraction. He found me a show, and I binge watched Downton Abbey and lived in another time period for two days. I think I watched too much as I wonder what they are all doing today!
I find when I am sick I can let go of all of the “should dos” in my life. My whole body is concentrating on resting and getting better. Really, a gift for one with such a busy mind. Everything becomes so quiet. And I become so focused on the simple things in life. A place I would like to stay more often.
Today, my thoughts are whirling back, but there is no energy to get much done. I have to rely on Jon and the kids to once again take care of the family life. Someone will have to bring Eli to parkour, get dinner again as groceries run low, and do the dishes. I am lowering my expectations for myself as I tend to keep high expectations.
Just be, I hear my intuition speak. You have permission to just be.
